Portfolio Manager— Nashville

The investment engine is the heart of this firm — and Portfolio Managers run it. This seat is for a proven investor who wants their research to drive real portfolios: managing discretionary strategies of individual securities, owning positions from thesis to exit, and making decisions that reach actual client capital the same day. No committee layers, no distance between your work and its results — direct accountability alongside the founder and CIO.

Infinitus Wealth Management · Nashville · We Don't Just Manage Wealth. We Build It.

The Role

Portfolio Managers at Infinitus sit inside the discipline that defines us: managing discretionary portfolios of individual securities across twelve proprietary strategies. This is hands-on, conviction-driven investment management — not model maintenance.

  • Generate and defend investment ideas through fundamental research, owning positions from thesis to exit with real capital and real accountability

  • Research side: company-level fundamental analysis, valuation work, and monitoring of the firm’s scored universe of 500+ securities — augmented by technical and macro analysis in the firm’s tradition

  • Portfolio side: construction and position sizing within written strategy charters, rebalancing and tax-aware implementation across client accounts on the Altruist platform, and adherence to defined sell disciplines

  • Manage risk measured at both the position and portfolio level

  • Present your work directly to the founder and CIO, and contribute to strategy reviews where decisions are debated on merit

  • Articulate portfolio thinking clearly enough that advisors can carry it to clients with conviction

  • Salaried, in-house investment position — distinct from our production-based advisor roles. Advisors at Infinitus advise; the portfolios behind them are managed here

For an investor who wants their research to drive actual portfolios — without the committee layers of a large shop — this seat offers direct impact few firms can match.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, research, and present investment ideas: company-level fundamental analysis, financial modeling, and valuation across the firm’s scored universe

  • Construct and maintain portfolios across assigned strategies within written charters — position sizing, rebalancing, and tax-aware implementation across client accounts

  • Monitor holdings continuously and execute the firm’s sell disciplines without hesitation

  • Measure and manage risk at the position, strategy, and portfolio level

  • Contribute to strategy reviews, performance attribution, and the ongoing refinement of the firm’s ranking and scoring framework

  • Partner with advisors on portfolio communication — clear thinking, clearly explained, so conviction survives the trip from research desk to client meeting

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of relevant investment experience — portfolio management or senior research at a hedge fund, asset manager, or similar top-tier investment firm

  • A graduate degree (MBA, MS in Finance, or comparable rigorous program); CFA charter or meaningful progress toward it is highly valued

  • A demonstrable record of security selection and portfolio decision-making you can walk through in detail — process, theses, outcomes, and lessons

  • Deep fluency in fundamental analysis and valuation, with working command of technical and macro context

  • Genuine conviction and intellectual honesty: the discipline to follow a written process and the candor to argue against your own positions when the facts change

  • Commitment to the fiduciary standard and a clean regulatory record

We hold this seat to the same bar we hold ourselves: rigorous training, genuine investment curiosity, and respect for process. If that describes the career you have built, we want to know you.
